Optimization

17 Jun

What do you do, when you want to find a certain company, but you do not now its name? The first think that I do in this case is simply to open Google and type in something related to the activities of the company. For example, I was recently wondering where from can I buy a car, driven purely on electricity. To quickly get all the answers I typed the term “electrical car” in the Google browser, and of course I got all the information that I needed.

Why should we spend our money and time in creating sophisticated websites, for the needs of our business, when people can not find it easily through the most widely used search engines, like Google or Bing for example? How you understand this is a rhetoric question. Simply building up our website and putting all the vital information in there is not enough. We should pay much attention on the search engine optimization because it can greatly contribute to more people visiting our website.

In light of the fact that search engine optimization can be really crucial for people to find us or our companies easily on the net, I decided to find out what professionals think. That is why I opened Google Blogs and typed in “SEO”. A post by Kole McRae called “A Comprehensive Post on SEO” quickly captured my attention. In his post, Kole McRae, a professional in the field of SEO, gives some tips that we should follow when creating our blogging website in order to receive a higher rank in the search engines. All the valuable points that he states can be concluded into one simple sentence – We should create high quality work on regular basis. Only this can ensure our webpage of higher ranking.

Looking further through the results from my search term, I came to another interesting post called “10 SEO Mistakes to Avoid – A SPN Exclusive Article”. The author David Dungan, give us the rules that we should follow if we do not want our website to rank in search engines. If we want our website to rank we should not build a flash only website, hide all our content in images, use excessive Java script, copy someone else’s content, stuff the content with keywords, use automated directory submission software, participate in link exchange programs, use the same page title and meta description across our site or focus on the wrong keywords. After I read this post I really understood that by avoiding these aspects, we can really optimize our websites so they can get a higher rank in Google or Bing, which will guarantee more visits. If you want to know some methods of how to avoid such setbacks, just follow the link that I have provided above.

But how can a person without so much experience still succeed in optimizing his website? The post “Super Simple SEO Tips worth Implementing as a Newbie” provides the answers. This blog post provides five very useful tips that are not so difficult to implement but at the same time can greatly contribute to site optimization. One easy way to make our website easily noticed by the search engine is to create a blog, where we or people who visit our blog can share their thoughts. Second tip is to create links with other high-quality websites in our field, but be careful because the quantity is less important than the quality. Renewing the content on regular basis, creating a site map, as well as utilizing our webpage title tags efficiently are also essential points.

How you see from the examples mentioned in my post there are many people, with experience in the field of search engine optimization, who are ready to help you achieve an enormous optimization of your webpage, by providing their valuable tips. So if you think that not enough people visit your webpage, just click on the links provided above, and optimize.

    Hey Dian.
Great post! Besides of the professional information you provided, I really liked your style how you structured your argumentation.
When I was in Argentina two years ago, I made an intership in an agency which was really focused on optimizing his website visits and it was my task to get in touch with professionals in this field. But actually I didn’t know what exactly these professionals were doing, so thanks for your post and for informing us how to do it ourselves.
    Very well done!

    Hello, Dian,

Great information!! And this is true, there are so many web sites but somehow – now i know how – they are hard to find in internet. Thank you for the tips.
May be most of students while making a year abroad would like to create a web site and share their experince. If I do that do, I will definitely do what you wrote.

    The only thing…….
I think that instead of writting what we should NOT do …

(”If we want our website to rank we should not build a flash only website, hide all our content in images, use excessive Java script, copy someone else’s content, stuff the content with keywords, use automated directory submission software, participate in link exchange programs, use the same page title and meta description across our site or focus on the wrong keywords” – LONG LIST of what we shoudl NOT do)

you could have written what we SHOULD do.

P.S. Say you are FOR peace. Instead you are AGAINST War.

    Hey Dian,

really great post you wrote there!

I find it absolutely interesting how you can use these search engine optimizations to rank your website and let it be found fast and easily. I haven’t really thought about it but I think it is very important, especially for businesses that are dependent on the internet to generate their revenues. Besides, today there is such a great variety of websites that often offer the same, so SEO also helps the users to make their way through the jungle of websites and leads them to find the results they are really searching for.
